The WCCA Board would like to reach out to touch base with owners and residents regarding the extended period of cold, snowy, and icy weather that we are entering. This weather is challenging, and we'd like to keep everyone informed as well as provide advice for getting through the inclement weather.
Cold Temperature and Water Pipes
Residents are responsible for managing the temperature of their pipes to ensure they don't freeze and burst. We recommend the following actions:
keeping faucets on a slow drip to keep water moving
opening cabinet doors to keep warm air circulating
leaving an incandescent lightbulb turned on in your utility closet to add warmth
using heat tape, pool noodles, or insulation around the pipes
adding an electric space heater to the utility room to keep pipes warm. Please note that space heaters should be checked on frequently while being operated and never left unattended for extended periods of time.
Snow Response and Resident Responsibilities
WCCA works closely with our snow removal company to continually monitor and respond to changing weather conditions. We will plow the roads and clear the snow from sidewalks. WCCA is not responsible to clear or treat hand railings, individual parking spaces, and decks or patios. Residents are expected to clear their own parking spaces and treat them with salt from the distributed salt buckets. WCCA is not responsible for injuries occurred in areas that residents are responsible to treat during snow and ice conditions.
We hope you all stay safe and warm. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the office at wcca@westamptoncondos.net
